FUTURO

In this section, we'll give you a glimpse into our upcoming projects. Discover new initiatives and ongoing developments. Stay tuned for updates and join us as we pursue our goals.

Among the Association's objectives is to continue building community and a sense of belonging, in harmony with the environment, through community work, and to explore new organizational models for the common good. Therefore, support will continue to be provided for management and organizational processes so that the local citizens themselves become the true protagonists of their own development, ultimately achieving self-sufficiency.

The following is a list of projects to be carried out in various areas:

CONSTRUCTION OF THE SAN JOSE CATOMBE SCHOOL COMPLEX, MALANJE

1.- HISTORY OF THE PARISH: OUR LADY OF FATIMA OF MAXINDE, MALANJE

With the vitality of a group of Spanish and Basque missionaries, and the financial support of the Basque Country, this parish stood out and was a pilot in:

  1. The action of social opening.

  2. Charitable and social action, through the establishment of the Parish Caritas, helps those most in need and analyzes, through a study, the situation of the neighborhood and the city. The parish makes its land available to the community for cultivation, providing seeds and tools to improve the living conditions of the population. This has been the practice for many years.

  3. And, above all, in educational activities. In this field, the work has been immense, since on the 30,000 m2 where the parish was built, a large educational complex was erected: Primary and Secondary Schools, a Vocational Training Center, and the Institute of Religious Sciences for teacher training, which continues to operate with a high degree of acceptance for the quality of its teaching in the Malanjo community.

2-NEED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SCHOOL IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

It is estimated that Catombe may have a population of over 10,000, as there is no official census. This community is located on the outskirts of the city of Malanje, with houses scattered throughout the countryside. There is only one school, run by the Sacred Heart Sisters, with a capacity for about 200 students. Therefore, children who are able to attend school must travel more than 6 kilometers to reach one of the schools in the city. We can confidently say that more than 50 percent of the children are not enrolled in school. Therefore, it is urgent to address the educational situation in the neighborhood. This is the reason for our project.

3.-PLACE OF CONSTRUCTION AND START OF THE PROCESS

Next to the large chapel of San José, which can accommodate a thousand seated people, there is an area of land of about 3,000 m2, available for the construction of the future Educational Center.

To get some of the work done, the entire site, including the chapel, has been enclosed with a 2.50 m high cement block wall, with the financial help of the parishioners' labor.

With the help of technicians from the Moving Hearts Association, who know the place, a first plan of the Educational Center was drawn up, with all its facilities, adapting to the space available there.

Based on that initial design, a company has completed the entire project for us, including documentation, materials, and corresponding plans, so that the Center can be classified as the San José School Complex, according to the existing regulations in the country.

This project is accompanied by two budgets, prepared by reputable companies in Malanje that, we believe, have the capacity and resources to carry out this important work.

4.-BENEFICIARIES OF THE EDUCATIONAL CENTER

The first beneficiaries would be the hundreds of boys and girls who are not in school in the neighborhood and who wander the streets or the countryside, helping with agricultural tasks or searching in garbage dumps for any useful object to sell or, some even, searching for something to eat.

Parents and families also benefit, since education, besides being a right, helps to raise the level of knowledge, understanding and coexistence in the family and in society.

FOOD PROJECT BUDGET

1.- Milk and Cookies Glass Project

As a prelude to this goal and with financial support from the Moving Hearts Association of Granada, Spain, for two years, we have been giving a glass of milk and cookies to 400 children at the Center.

Our goal from next year onwards is to provide a meal, with local ingredients, to 300 children, which is the capacity of the dining hall.

2. Project for a meal for 300 children

Based on the above and, above all, the economic experience of the Children's Home, where we provide local foods and meals, such as cassava, corn, and peanuts, we have adjusted this budget to feed 300 students every school day for 9 months of the school year:

Cost of food per child: €0.25. For 300 children, that's €75 per day. For a 22-day school month, that's €1,650. And for a 9-month school year, that's €14,850 per year.

3. Additional expenses

The following people and costs are needed for proper functioning:

Project Manager (planning purchases, meals, etc.). This would include a nun, cook, assistants, security guard, and maintenance staff.

Responsible party, 4 euros per day x 22 days = 88 euros x 9 months ………. 792 euros

Cook 3 euros per day x 22 days = 66 euros per month x 9 months ……… 594 “

Kitchen assistant at 2 euros per day x 22 = 44 euros x 9 months ………. 396 “

2 kitchen helpers at 2 euros per day x 22 = 22 euros x 9 months ……… 396 “

Annual maintenance of kitchen/dining room (water, electricity, etc.) ……….. 500 “

2 Security Guards at 2 euros each per day for 30 days and 12 months… 1,440

Total annual cost ……………………………… 4,118 euros

4.-TOTAL EXPENSES: 14,850 + 4,118: €18,938

WELL FOR PASSAGE COMMUNITY, MALANJE (ANGOLA)

controlador y cableado………………………………………………………....….. 2 .200,00 “

Plataforma metálica de 4 m para tanque y placas ………………….... 1.400,00 “

AGRICULTURAL PROJECT: TRACTOR

PURPOSE OF THE AGRICULTURAL PROJECT

To put the 40 hectares of land to full production to produce all kinds of traditional Angolan products such as cassava, corn, peanuts, beans, cauliflower... also all kinds of vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, onions, garlic, etc.

This production will go towards the upkeep of the Our Lady of Mercy Children's Home, which cares for 70 children aged 1 to 18. It will also support the school cafeteria at the Irma Ana Rivas Educational Center, which has a capacity for 1,100 students, in the marginalized neighborhood of Cahala, Malanje, where they provide daily meals to 400 students in two shifts. The cafeteria is run by the Mercedarian Sisters of Charity.

And finally, to the group of older people (from 30 to 50), who come to the Casa de las Mercedarias every day to receive products from the farm, depending on the season.

If there are surpluses, they are sold to buy other food products that are not produced on the farm, such as oil, rice, sugar, biscuits, etc.

To cultivate the farm of the Mercedarian Sisters we need a tractor capable of handling the following tools: brush cutter, plow, leveler and trailer.
