ANGOLA
Angola, officially the Republic of Angola, is a country in southern Africa. It borders Namibia to the south, Zambia to the southeast, and the Republic of the Congo to the northeast, while its west coast is on the Atlantic Ocean. Its capital is Luanda, and in the north lies the enclave of Cabinda, which borders both the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Portuguese were present at various points along the coast that now belongs to Angola from the 16th century and interacted with the native population in various ways. The Portuguese presence became firmly established in the 19th century with their penetration into the interior of the territory and their effective occupation, effectively establishing it as a European colony, as stipulated at the Berlin Conference of 1884/85. The consolidation of colonization did not occur until the 1920s, after the subjugation of the Mbunda people and the abduction of their king, Mwene Mbandu Kapova I.
Angola gained its independence from Portugal on November 11, 1975, after a long war (from 1961 to 1975). However, once emancipated, the new country was plunged into an intense and protracted civil war, which lasted from 1975 to 2002.
The country has abundant mineral and oil deposits, and its economy has grown rapidly since the 1990s, especially since the end of the civil war. As a result, the standard of living varies between coastal cities and towns, while poverty remains widespread in the interior.

MALANJE
It corresponds to the department and, in turn, city in the north-central interior of Angola.
The city has 300,000 inhabitants. It represents the economic and social contrast described in the country's characteristics. This is a consequence of the harsh years of war, whose aftereffects are very evident in the high poverty rates.
